At the foot of the Tianshan Mountains, in the southern part of the Yangtze River beyond the Great Wall, there is a special national institution - the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps. It undertakes the responsibility of cultivating and guarding the border entrusted by the state, implements a highly unified special management system of the party, government, military, and enterprise, and manages internal administrative and judicial affairs in accordance with laws and regulations. It is a special social organization that is listed separately in the national plan and is under the dual leadership of the central government and the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Over the years, the members of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps have continuously worked hard and dedicated themselves to the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang.
Director Li Qianyue of the Urology Department of Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps Hospital actively explored new paths and methods. On March 30, 2023, the hospital successfully performed blue laser prostate vaporization surgery on an elderly patient using the "200W blue laser surgical system" for the first time.
It is reported that the patient is 79 years old and has been affected by symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, and increased nocturia that affect daily life. After admission, he was diagnosed with benign prostatic hyperplasia, with a prostate size of about 50g, and requires timely surgical treatment. After considering, Director Li decided to use new technology for this surgery.
The surgery is safe and smooth, with clean and tidy wounds and almost no bleeding. The postoperative patient urinated smoothly without any adverse reactions, and the surgical effect was recognized and praised by the patient and their family.
Director Li said after using the blue laser, "The vaporization efficiency of the blue laser is higher than that of other lasers, and it is relatively stable. Generally, when the laser vaporizes for the second time, it stops vaporizing, and there are fewer scabs and simple operations. Young doctors in our department can do it."
The doctors who observed and studied on site also praised: "By using blue laser, we can perform daytime surgery without bleeding during the operation, and even achieve tubeless treatment.".
Technical advantages
Blue laser is a 450nm wavelength semiconductor laser with high hemoglobin absorption rate, thin solidification layer, and minimal side damage. Blue laser vaporization of the prostate has a clear field of vision during surgery, low incidence of postoperative complications, short recovery time, and high surgical safety. In vitro experiments have shown that blue laser vaporization efficiency is superior to other types of lasers and is an ideal method for treating prostate hyperplasia. This technology fully meets the conditions for daytime surgery and provides a high-quality treatment plan for elderly, high-risk, and complex patients.
